The University of Ghana has a long and lasting  relationship with this Centre's partner project Cambridge-Africa. Professor Mark Carrington  has an established research collaboration on Trypanosomes, the protozoans causing sleeping sickness, Chagas disease as well as affecting cattle. The University of Ghana collaborates with Cambridge on numerous projects notably Thrive and Caprex, all highlighted on the link below.

In close collaboration with The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, it supports researchers working in public health and tropical medicine to develop their careers, and foster interchange between institutions in the UK and those based in low- and middle-income countries.
