Viruses continue to be an evolving threat to global health and well being. The global impact  of viral diseases in terms of cost, morbidity and mortality is significant driven by the regular flu pandemics, the challenges of emerging zoonotic diseases such as Ebola or Zika as well as HIV-AIDs with its long term latency and stealth.

Many of the University's departments are involved in viral research often in collaboration with its overseas partners we showcase here a sample of current relevant research.
